Hollywood Heights Bassmasters is a draw club, members with boats are paired with non-boaters before each tournament. Gasoline expenses for boat and tow vehicle are shared equally between both members, the non-boater is asked to pay $20 to the boater for these expenses. Our annual membership fee is $25.00, tournament fees are $35.00 per tournament. A mixture of lakes with a limited horsepower and open horsepower are chosen each year by the tournament comittee. A monthly newsletter summarizes tournament results and is given out at the meetings.
Here is how the draw works...
1.) The draw will be held on the first Tuesday of the month at the Bridge Inn in Caseyville, IL at 8pm. If you cannot attend then you must get someone to "put your name in" or else you cannot fish the event.
2.) You give the Tournament Chairman your money for the event(s), Denny Beiter is the 2008 tournament chairman.
3.) You have the option to be either a BOATER or a NON-BOATER for the tournaments between the meeting and the next meeting. If you choose to go as a BOATER you WILL USE YOUR BOAT! We put all of the BOATERS in on hat and the NON-BOATERS in another. We draw out a BOATER then pair that person up with a NON-BOATER. Once all of the NON-BOATERS are paired up the remaining BOATERS will fish by themselves. In the rare occasion that we have more NON-BOATERS then the remaining NON-BOATERS will have the option to either find a boat to use or withdraw from the tournament. Most of the limited horsepower lakes will allow a large HP boat to be used witha trolling motor only.
--- The March 11th, 2008 meeting will draw for the Newton Tourmanet (Held on March 30th, 2008).
--- The April 1st, 2008 meeting will draw for the Coffeen Tournament (April 6th) and the Sangchris tournament (May 4th).
--- The May meeting will not have a draw but the detail of the Buddy tournament will be discussed.
etc.... I am tired of typing, you get the idea!
Our final event of the year, the Classic, has no tournament fee and members qualify by simply fishing at least five of our nine tournaments. Either way the final event is always a day of fun for all who participate. If you like to bass fish and have considered joining a club, please send us an e-mail or come to one of our regular club meetings.
